Report of EBWU Committee Meeting in Bratislava
As some of our number were attending the EBF Council Meetings in Bratislava, Slovakia (2013), it was decided that we hold our meetings there also. So last year the newly elected Committee met in Bratislava, from 28th-30th September (Friday –Sunday) for our first time together.
The Slovakian women were very helpful in arranging our accommodation which was ideal for us, as two of our number had a large room and we used the lounge area for our meetings. As is normal when we come together we dealt with the business in hand, but we also got to know each other a little better which was good as we will be working and interacting together for the next five years. We did have a good time, as we shared, discussed, prayed and planned, and duties allocated.
On the Saturday evening we were hosted by the Slovak and Czech women in a house belonging to the Bratislava Baptist Church. They prepared a lovely meal for us and we sat down and ate together and enjoyed fellowship with each other. After-wards we all shared some personal things and then about our national situation after which we had a time of prayer for what was shared.
Aniko, our President, then brought a short epilogue from the Psalms. The evening went in all too quickly.
Sunday morning saw us worshipping with the congregation of the Baptist Church, which was another wonderful experience to share in worship and to meet the people. It so happened that Otniel Bunaciu, the EBF president was the preacher, and also in the congregation was Tony & Alison Peck and Neville Callam, General Secretaries of EBF and BWA respectively.
In the afternoon Ludmilla and another couple took us on a walking short sightseeing tour of Bratislava which we enjoyed so much. It was a lovely end to our time in Bra-tislava. We were so blessed and returned home excited and enthused about the work before us.
