Chernobyl camp needs support
News from Belarus
We praise the Lord for we‘re in His family and this feeling comes out
especially when we have those rare precious moments to be together,
like we had in Budapest at the conference that was held by the EBWU on
November 18-21, 2010.
We
heard bright testimonies about the sisters‘ ministries in different
countries of Europe and Asia including Belarus. I‘d love to emphasize
the mercy ministry among children in our country.
There‘re
30 000 orphans in Belarus, many come from Chernobyl contaminated
areas, 20 000 are handicapped. Our churches try to carry the message
of God‘s love to these children in the hospitals, orphanages; they take
the orphans to their homes.
Children‘s Health Center "Zhemchuzhinka" (Little Pearl) in
Brest region is one of the most important ministries to the children.
Every
summer children come to the camp where they can improve their physical
and spiritual health, many children accept Jesus here.
Unfortunately, the camp is in a deep financial crisis this year.
We pray and ask God to find churches and people in the world who could
help the Health Center in 2011, because the donations that come from
the churches in Belarus are not enough for all the summer shifts.
If
you have a heart for children in Belarus and their health improvement,
you can help through the Baptist Union in Germany, that will transfer
your funds to our camp.
We also invite all brothers and sisters to visit our country, our camp and mourn and rejoice with us in Christ.
“He
that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].” Ps. 126:6
With love, hope and prayers for all of you,
Vera Tikhon,
responsible for the Women"s ministry in Belarus.
