15-18 May 2008 - Dalfsen, the Netherlands

Dear sisters,
It is my privilege to invite you to the European Conference which will be held May 15-18, 2008 in Dalfsen, the Netherlands.

The Dutch women’s Union have invited us to come to their country and found a beautiful Christian conference centre where we will stay during these days. The name of this conference centre is ‘De Bron’, which means ‘the source’ or ‘well’ in English.

The name ‘De Bron’ inspired us to choose as theme for our conference: Jesus, our Source of Inspiration.
The Bible verse connected to this is Isaiah 58:11b, where it says:

"You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never runs dry".

Our prayer is that this conference will strengthen our faith so we will spiritually grow and become more equipped to continue our women’s work.

The centre can host many people, so there is no need to limit the number of participants yet. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to meet with as many sisters from Europe as possible?
This conference will be a special opportunity for Baptist women to come together from north and south, east and west to worship our Lord together, to be inspired and encouraged and to experience that in spite of all the differences we can be one in Him.

'De Bron' Conference Centre, Dalfsen, the Netherlands

Several registrations are arriving.
If you haven’t done this so far,  please register as soon as possible, even if you don’t have the details of your journey to the Netherlands yet. You can send those details later. For those who need visa to travel to the Netherlands it is even more important to register really soon!

But you should also realise your travel details are very much needed to make arrangements  for your transportation from the airport to the Conference centre. This is a very complicated job for the Dutch working group. If you’d arrive in time on Thursday we’ll try to provide a bus for your onward journey, which will take about another 1 ½ hours.
We will also try and help you if you will not be able to catch this bus, or when you are travelling on another day, or using other means of transportation. We’ll send directions to those who will travel by train or by car at a later stage.

On May 15, the registration desk at the Conference Centre will be open from 13.00 on. There you will receive your Conference papers and the key to your room.
The programme of the conference will start with dinner at 18.00 and ends on Sunday, May 18 with a lunch at 12.30.

The programme will contain Bible study, workshops, sharing, singing, music, prayer time, our Business meeting, an outing, etc. Beside that there will be time to meet each other and getting to know each other better over the meals and during the breaks. And it will be a time to share how God is working in and through women.

We are happy that Dorothy Selebano will lead our Bible studies.
There will be workshops from which you can choose two : Migration, Christians and the Islam, Crisis in Christian life, Women with a Mission, Biblical Drama and a creative workshop.

The Dutch women are also organising a small outing to do a little sight-seeing after which we hope you will be able to meet more Dutch sisters (and brothers).

The price of the conference, including the registration fee is 250 Euro. It will be paid upon arrival to the conference. (For any further information please contact me -- e-mail address and phone number here.)

We are looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible. It certainly will be a special event to meet with women from all over ‘our’ Europe.
In spite of the differences there are in background, characters, culture, traditions and languages we can experience the unity there is in Jesus our Lord whom we serve together and who has been, is and will be our source of inspiration.

In His service,
Janny Kingma
